Book Club tomorrow!

Book Club is tomorrow at my house (14073 Pine Mesa Dr)  and I'd like to start at 7:30 so I'll have a chance to get my kids everywhere they need to be.   And in case you missed it, the book is "Ghost Map" by Steven Johnson.

We will be reading The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas for the next couple of months.  It is one of my favorite books of all time.  If long classics aren't your thing, I've also recently enjoyed -

Wonder by R. J. Palacio

July and August Book Clubs

Hi Ladies! I think it has been a crazy summer for everyone but I wanted to make sure we all had plenty of time to prep for book club so here is the plan for July and August. July Kami Brown will host July 31st. Her address is 1172 Summer Harvest in Draper. If you have been to her house before don't go there! She has moved across the street. She wants to read "The Same Kind of Different as Me" or the follow up book "What Different Do It Make?" We'll plan on meeting at our regular 7:00. August Alicia West and I will tag team. We will have it at my house (Tara's)on August 28th at 7:00. Hopefully that won't conflict with anyone's back to school night. Alicia has chosen Erma Bombeck's "If Life is a Bowl of Cherry's then what am I doing in the Pits" Hopefully everyone is staying sane and enjoying your summer. See you in a few weeks!

Is There a Book for July?

Hi ladies. I had heard a few suggestions flying around for July but did we ever decide on what the book was and who was hosting?

BOOK FOR MAY!!!!!!!

Hi ladies! Although I have been AWOL for the last 2 months, you have all been in my thoughts, and I'm so excited that I can actually 1--come to book club in May, and 2--choose the book and host!

So, having said that, I had chosen Dickens' Great Expectations, but I have since changed my mind. we are going to read The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The movie is coming out next month and I thought that it would be very interesting to read it while it is front and center in the media. So, its The Great Gatsby ladies!
